In preparation for the final version of the medieval project we needed to record a few live acoustic instruments to add a live feel to the project.
After creating the MIDI mockup track we used it as a click track for the players to ad lib their part for each of the sections in the song.

We outsourced musical talent to Joe's friend, Kayla who played the violin ad libs. I learnt to play the recorder when I was in primary and continued to play the recorder for 8 years. I was able to then noodle around and come up with a melody on the spot to cover each 8 bar section. I wanted the A section of the song to be part of a call and response feature of the song. The B section of the track was played with the treble recorder to lower the sound and use it to respond to the descant recorder's call in the A section.

Tracked for 5 hours in studio
