Use of Impulse responses and how to download them for use in your DAW!
Intro
Impulse response is usually measured with a cap gun that can produce over a 120dB and will ring out in a room. This Impulse of song is then recorded and the sound is then processed in a convolution reverb wav or aiff file that can in turn be used to generate a reverb response that mimics an expensive speaker setup.
This is super helpful in achieving those larger than life sounds and being able to create those lush reverb tails that could only be captured in real settings.
Application
Load the IR sound files usually a .aif or .wav file into the convolution reverb plugin. then set the reverb tail to zero and the pre delay to 100%. When we pass a signal through the signal is played through and treated through the inbuilt reverb.
