We had the privilege of being able to track and record the Queensland Wind Orchestra who performs regularly at The Old Museum in Brisbane last April. David Law, the conductor of the QWO requested that we record their orchestra so that they could use the recording for their own archival purposes and use to debrief with their orchestra when reviewing musical passages.

For our own purposes we wanted to improve our skill in recording a large orchestra and use some audio knowledge in achieving a good recording of a live orchestra. We wanted to capture the live reverb as well being able to mix some aspects of the orchestra that would have been too subtle in the final mix like the harp or double bass.
