Did any of the experiences or learning material I went through relate to my profession?
After attending the Wednesday night meeting for the Made Today: sound composition for films and gaming we I found it satisfying to know that there is a burgeoning demand for dynamic audio and audio for games and VR environments. Sound and music composition is needed in the these environment. Andrew and Tim worked in this field and were applying the same skills taught in SAE regarding how to advertise oneself to the industry through networking events like synergy and external sound events. Also that people tend to like to work people that they know in this industry so it is extremely important to know as many people as possible and not be an a@#.
Is there an academic or scientific explanation to my experience and what were the lessons learned?
(TBA)
How do I intend to use the experiences encountered and learnt this week into my future practice?
After attending the meeting on Wednesday I kind of got the feeling that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and seeing active composers using the same knowledge I am currently learning at SAE is gratifying.
I intend to network as much as I can while at SAE to get my name out there so to speak and compose as much as possible to create a large portfolio. Since I put a great deal of planning this week it should set me up well for the next couple weeks following.
