What happened during the week?
Monday
Spent 10 hours in studio recording Foley room recording the session for production sounds and recorded the following sounds:
Neve
ADR Zombies
ADR Franco
ADR Issac
Audient B
Footsteps
Zombie Feet
Issac running in the field
Glass Impact and breaking sounds
Tuesday
Spent 1 hour recording Michelle and mixing the final take for the intercom message for the scene when the
Booked out C24 from 7:30 - 9:30 recorded flesh bat flapping noise and also some key whipping noise
Thursday
Today during the session with Connor we all participated in a research activity on different dands technical rider. I found out that established bands will usually have a technical rider listed on their band webpage that is easily accessible to the public.
Friday
Attended 1hour talk by Mick Gordon the sound designer for the DOOM 2016 version of the game. I learnt so much from this talk not about the creation side but more so from the business side of music production in general. Networking vitally important, jobs come from people who they can trust. Creating good work is also vitally important.
Do any of the events or learning material relate to my profession?
The industry exercise in looking up technical riders has taught me how bands work and how they communicate their technical requirements via a write up of equipment and materials
I also noticed that there are recurring items that large bands will tend to gravitate to use. This I see will be useful for an event manager since they can hire out similar gear that will cover the live set that will be playing that night.
Is there an academic or scientific explanation and what are the lessons learned?
If given the chance how would I respond or approach this week?
