What happened during the week?
Monday
Tuesday
Worked 4 hours in the studio to mix and master our session in Audient 8024, during this time we made
During the session today we presented our video with the mix off our sounds involved.
From the feedback to the video we found that the items we identified that were needed to be changed to be identified also by the class which gave us an indicator that we have developed a good understanding of seeing things that do not fit in the mix for the video. Also with the footsteps this was not needed to be re-recorded since this was an example of us over analyzing the reality of the medium. If this was a realistic zombie movie then there would be an expectation on the realism of the work. since this was a game then it would not be needed to be as real so to speak because this is part of the game dynamics and thus the expectation is adjusted accordingly for the genre. This was highly valuable feedback to take this into our next project because we can focus our energy into things that really matter in future projects.
Wednesday
Spent 2 hours
Creating the three highly identifiable HUD sounds that appear during game play. The sound notifications were key game play cues and needed to poke out in the mix. For the three sounds I made all the notes in VCV rack which is a free open source virtual modular synthesizer rack that you can patch in any number of free modules to create sounds using oscillators, filters and and LFO's. Below are the final assets that I created while referencing heavily from the original game play footage.

Held 1 hour meeting with a Tri 5
group to confirm the sound assets required for the project deliverable. During the meeting we took on board the requirements from the team about the use of
Later that night Joe and I spent another 2 hours revisiting the

during the first half of the day. Connor showed us a method in which we can map out the stage in a visual form using a flow chart software available on google draw. During the session we practiced drawing the flow diagram for the
From a description brief we were to map out a stage layout, there were no details as to what

that night to work on the final version of the video for the submission taking into consideration of the feedback given on Tuesday
Friday
Total work time 2 hours
During the day I finished the final composition for the atmospheric music by adding additional dissonant strings to the final piece. Automation was added to raise the orchestral tension music during the cut scenes and faded out until the next cut scene with the Necromorph attacking the protagonist Issac. During game play I raised level of Atmos which was composed by Joe to enhance the gameplay. the The high pitched strings were made to be louder in the mix so as to create the needed tension building for the final fight with the Necromoph.
Saturday
Do any of the events or learning material relate to my profession?
Is there an academic or scientific explanation and what are the lessons learned?
If given the chance how would I respond or approach this week?
